Our Annual Appeal fundraiser is off to a strong start! We are thrilled to share that in the first two weeks we have reached 20% of our goal of $100,000. Thank you to those who have already participated. If you are able to, we hope you will consider making a direct, tax-deductible donation to support us, so that we can, in turn, support the things we love about Thornton Creek. Your gift of any size is greatly appreciated.

This TC Parent Group fundraiser is the main source of funding for our annual operating budget for the year ahead.

If you missed it, please see our Special Edition Newsletter from October 12th.

Message From the Chair
Hi friends!
Thanks to the staff and fifth graders and parent volunteers who pulled off a successful Harvest Festival—I know my kids had a blast. I hope we'll be able to find more of those moments of joy together in community as the year goes on!

Next Tuesday, Nov. 9, will be our monthly Site Council meeting held on Zoom from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. You can check out the agenda and please email me at ASAP if you'd like to add anything. It's a wonderful opportunity to chat with other parents, hear updates from Principal Gerrit Kischner and staff, and find out ways to shape Thornton Creek's present and future. I hope to see you there!

May you have a joyful first week of November!

In partnership and community,

Fall work parties to clean up and maintain the landscaping and gardens at Thornton Creek will be held one more morning this fall: Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Come join this last fall work party, make connections with other parents and help keep the school's grounds looking great for all students to enjoy. Work will include weeding, mulching and planting. Volunteers must wear masks and be vaccinated (children welcome if they have been vaccinated). No experience necessary. Mark your calendar and sign up to let us know you will be there!
