Cold weather is coming.... please remember to dress accordingly!
OUR MISSION:

We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI

Dear SRS Parents,

Many people have inquired about sibling registration for the upcoming school year. It is now open. Current families will be given priority to register a sibling until January 31, 2020. Registration information can be obtained by contacting Admissions Director, Carissa Civitello at [email protected]

Congratulations to Ayla Sivri who will be recognized by the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) with a Good Citizenship Award. Ayla will be recognized along with graduating middle school students from other area schools for her dedication to honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism.

The end of the first trimester is quickly approaching. Grades will be closing oo Wednesday, November 20 and report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, November 26. Parents of grades 4-8 students have the opportunity to receive bi-monthly progress reports on their child. These reports are generated automatically for those who have signed up. Simply go to the Educonnect portal and check the box and begin receiving those reports.

The winter weather seems to be approaching much faster than anyone desires. Please be sure your child comes to school with the proper winter weather attire. Students at all grade levels go outside for recess as long as the temperature is above freezing and the weather is favorable for outdoor play and exercise. The green fleece jacket is not an appropriate choice for outside recess. A winter jacket, hat and gloves will keep your child warm and make their time outside more enjoyable.

Finally, St. Rita School follows the decision of the Hamden Public Schools when deciding to close or delay due to inclement weather. Once a decision is made you will be notified via our School Messenger system and/or through the local TV stations. Please sign up with your local TV station for school closing alerts.
Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. Have a great week.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Does Your Company Offer Volunteer Grants?
Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work.
Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

Please take a moment and ask if your employer participates in a Volunteer Grants Program. Your time and talent at St. Rita School could turn into dollars for our school! Questions? Feel free to contact Joanne Bruno at  [email protected] .
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school

Over the summer, participating brands began to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app , available now. The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.

If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.

Visit amazonsmile.com , and anytime you purchase an eligible item, Amazon will donate a portion of the profit to our school! Select “Divine Mercy Parish
Corporation” as your charity, and St. Rita School will benefit every time you
