"Why such a big price difference?"

One of our clients used Appraise to value Apple stock on August 28, 2020 According to the Appraise report, Apple stock was valued at $502.04 a share. A Broker statement for the month of August (ending on August 31^st), valued the Apple stock at $129.04 a share.

We explained the difference was attributable to a 4:1 stock split with an August 31 ex-date. The split ex-date is the date the stock starts trading at the new adjusted split price.
