Marian Young Bradley

On November 6, 2022 Marian Young Bradley went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marian leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, grace and love which she eagerly shared with her beloved family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She found great joy in each of these roles. Marian's full obituary can be found here.



Marian's Celebration of Life will be held in the St. Mark's Sanctuary on Saturday, November 19th beginning at 11am and will be followed by a reception for family and friends.

If you are able to provide refreshments or help set-up/clean up, please let the church office know by either calling, emailing, or by signing up using this link.

Thanksgiving Helpers needed!



We are looking forward to being able to have our Thanksgiving Dinner again, but need your help to make it happen!

Volunteers are needed to help set up decorate (Saturday 11/19, 2pm), and to clean up and help with dishes (Sunday 11/20)

This year we will use Barn Geese Worship's Out of the Blue materials for our Ecumenical Midweek Advent Services, Small Groups, and Christmas Pageant.

Advent is coming! Be sure to pick up an Advent Devotional in the Commons to use this season as we wait for the promised Messiah. 

Worship Service Changes

As you prepare for the busy Christmas Season, please note there are a few changes in the times that we will worship together in December.

Christmas Pageant Presentation and Worship

• Sunday, December 18th - One Service beginning at 10am

Christmas Eve Worship

• Saturday, December 24th - 4pm, 7pm, and 10pm

Christmas Day Worship

• Sunday, December 25th - One Service beginning at 10am

New Year's Day Worship

• Sunday, January 1st - Regular Schedule will resume with 8:30am and 11am Worship Service

Equipment Loan Closet

Our equipment Loan Closet is running low again as we have been able to loan many items to those in need over the last few months. If you have borrowed any equipment and are able to return it, please return your item to the church and leave them near the piano in the welcome center. If you have anything to donate, we would be happy to find a home for it!

We are in need of the following donations of gentle used items to add to the community closet: 

1. Walkers
2. Shower Seats
3. Toilet Chairs

Note: We do NOT need wheelchairs at this time. 

Keeping the Community Warm

Church of the Advocate Blanket Collection

 As you are getting out your winter blankets, and see you have one to spare or one that has been well loved, think about donating it! Brother John Huebner, a Franciscan Missionary Friar, from Church of the Advocate is organizing a collection of blankets for the local homeless community. You can bring the donation to church and put it in the marked donation bin near the playground doors.

LMM Spouse Christmas Dinner

Saturday, December 9th @ 6pm

The Lutheran Men in Mission are having their 2022 LMM Spouses Dinner at 6PM on Friday, December 9th at the Fireplace Restaurant. Be on the lookout for a sign up sheet mid November to RSVP!

CAT - ABCCM Pantry Cupboard

Our volunteers at the ABCCM Crisis Ministry report that certain food items are desperately needed for the pantry. Between now and Thanksgiving, add a few items to your grocery bags when you go shopping for yourself!

NOTE: ABCCM is needing volunteers too! Please pray about spending some of your time there serving those who need you. There are many folks at St. Mark's who can explain what a day as a volunteer entails.

Afghan Women's Craft Collective

Since June, local Afghan women have been gathering biweekly to craft side by side, share food, cultivate friendships, and create community in their new city. They bring their cultural handicraft skills together with newly learned techniques to create one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces and other handcrafted goods. They are also being employed to sew bags, cloth napkins, and create beaded jewelry at home, providing some income for those who must stay home with small children.
