Expectant Mother Reunites with Friend in Denver

Mary K., 30 years old and seven months pregnant, came to the Brian Garcia Welcome Center and shared with HSC Staff that she was experiencing homelessness for about 30 days. Mary reported that she left the father of her unborn child as he had been physically abusing her. She was staying at a local shelter and did not feel comfortable there. A friend of Mary's in Denver offered her a place to stay until she had the baby and until she has time to find a home of her own. HSC Staff verified that Mary's friend was very happy to provide a home for Mary and her child. HSC Staff provided Mary with a bus ticket to Denver and food for the trip. Mary made it to Denver safely and is very grateful to be living with her friend. She plans to find a primary doctor as well as employment as soon as possible. We thank Mary’s friend. And we wish Mary and her baby the best for their future.

Thank you HSC donors for making these reunions possible!
