A note from the Chamber’s Executive Director, Lance Evans
"After 4 ½ years the Chamber will be losing our front-line staffer, Carol Kulminski. Carol will be transferring her talents to the Orcas Island Community Church in a few weeks, where she will be able to join her husband, Bogdan, in working with a great team at the Church. The Chamber Board of Directors and I offer Carol a great big “Thank You!” for handling the job so very well, and turning out this amazing newsletter. Thanks Carol, you will be missed."

ISLAND RIDES OFFERS FREE SERVICES TO RESIDENTS
The complete washout of Pt. Lawrence Road just past Doe Bay Resort has isolated 200 homes. Office of emergency management, OICF and Lopez Island Rides are all pitching in to help, in addition to our own outstanding volunteer drivers! We will continue to provide service to the rest of the island, but a call out for additional volunteer drivers is needed! All rides are free, donations accepted, but not expected. Call 360-672-2201 to schedule a ride.

PREVIOUS FALL SCHEDULES RESUME FOR SAN JUAN FERRIES
Beginning Friday, November 19, the ferry advisory committee reports that there will be four vessels on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes, returning them to their previous fall schedule. Because crewing remains challenging, during the trial period we won’t resume reservations, so passengers will continue traveling on a first-come, first-served, basis. If, after a trial of at least two weeks we’re able to reliably operate all four vessels, we’ll restore the Anacortes/San Juan Islands reservations system. If we aren’t, we’ll transition to a new three-boat schedule addressing gaps in current service to Lopez and Shaw Islands, and develop a reservations system for that schedule.
