A WORD OF GRATITUDE
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
I have been relishing the events of two weeks at St. Martin. As I was doing it, these words of Jesus, “The kingdom of God is among you” came to my mind.
- We had a grace-filled and Spirit filled celebration of the fest of St. Martin of Tours. We collected over 1000 coats, jackets, and sweaters for the Farm Worker Families and for the people in need. The candlelit procession with Blessed Sacrament added to the spiritual setting. Hot chocolates and cookies are added to the flavor. Many volunteers, ministers, parishioners, and friends made it possible. You make St Martin’s a true community of disciples. You are free to share the photos.
- St. Martin of Tours School had a wonderful food drive this past week. We collected 10 barrels of food, paper goods, diapers, and wipes.
- Some of our families last Friday took jackets, food, paper goods, diapers, and needed items to the farmworker families in Watsonville. The recipients were very, very grateful.
- We had a Family Faith Night which was very well attended by more than 200 participants.
- This Friday, we will be having the food box program and food distribution.
- Saturday, November 18, tickets are already sold out for the cornhole tournament and BBQ to raise funds for the St. Joseph Mercy Home.
We thank all the volunteers, ministers, staff, parishioners, and friends who make the kingdom of God tangible. You make St Martin’s a true community of disciples.
