Heritage Month
November is National Native American Heritage Month, honoring American Indians and Alaska Natives. In celebrating Native American Heritage Month, the Army recognizes not only the significance of individual contributions but also the value of diversity and an inclusive environment. 

Today we look back on Julia Kelly, who enlisted in the Army in 1981. She went on to serve 28 years in the Army, starting as an ammunition specialist and working her way up to command sergeant major.

On October 24, CPT Lindsay Gordon Heisler ’12 received WPAOG’s Alexander R. Nininger Award for Valor at Arms. From the moment she began training as an Apache pilot following graduation in 2012, it had been ingrained in her that her job was to keep the ground forces safe. On December 5, 2015 – nearing the end of a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan – Gordon and her co-pilot CW2 David Woodward engaged in a heroic firefight, successfully defending an aerial extraction of ground forces.   
Recently Veterans of the 6888 th Battalion attended the American Valor Gala in Washington DC and received the Audi Murphy Award.You don't want to miss this story! Watch the clip here!

They are hosting a special event as part of Military Appreciation Month. The Colonials are offering 2 FREE tickets to all military members with a valid ID at the ticket booth.
In high schools across the country, it seems that more women are joining the ranks. According to the U.S. Army JRTOC, female cadets make up 40% of the enrollment.
