· We can accept up to eight batteries per pallet.

Quality Standards for HYBRID BATTERIES

• No Lithium Batteries Accepted !

• Frame/Chassis - Missing, bent, tampered, dented, water damage, corrosion or fire --100%

• Cells/Modules - Missing, bent, tampered, water damage, corrosion or fire

• Remanufactured batteries (orange painted covers and/or charcoal painted bottom) ----- 100%

• Missing or damaged ECM module, partial cover missing ---- 25%

RAS Hybrid Battery Packaging and Shipping SOP

Hybrid and electric vehicle high voltage batteries contain substantial stored

energy and must be handled with great care.

In all cases, batteries must be stored and packaged in a manner that prevents the

dangerous evolution of heat or short circuit. “Dangerous evolution of heat” means an

amount of heat sufficient to be dangerous to packaging or personal safety; this includes

charring of packaging, melting of packaging, or any other physical evidence of heat.

NOTICE FOR TRANSPORTATION:

NiMH Batteries are not regulated as Hazmat

Shipping Preparation:

• Ensure the orange colored service plug has been removed.

• Cover all exposed battery terminals and service plug openings with non-

Conductive electrical tape

• Secure all loose wires and cabling to the battery to avoid pinched

Wires and electrical shorts during shipping

Secure the batteries to the pallet, and cover each battery pack with cardboard

• Use non-conductive PLASTIC BANDING…DO NOT use steel banding !

Batteries should be labeled “BATTERIES, DRY, SEALED, N.O.S.”

• NMFC #60700, NMFC Freight Class 60, “DO NOT STACK PALLETS”
