Strategic plan Survey 6 was sent to your email on October 30.
Athletics plays a powerful role in Christian discipleship at Eden.
It is our aim to provide exceptional athletic experiences that engage our students’ hearts and minds to desire, to think, and to act like Jesus. Our athletics mission statement is: The Eden Christian Academy athletics program exists to develop Christ-like leaders who use their God-given talents and God-created bodies as ambassadors for Christ who win and lose with humility and grace.

Your responses to the questions in Survey 6 will help us to determine what follow-up discussions, research, and focus groups need to be facilitated in order to discern what strategic goals will help us to better achieve that mission. For the purposes of this survey, athletics does not include physical education classes but refers to intramural and ECA team sports.

We value the time you invest in providing your feedback. To show our appreciation, each week one respondent will be awarded a CHICK-FIL-A FAMILY MEAL. Congratulations to our Survey 4 recipient, Christie Kaelin!

The day dawned bright and clear for the 2020 Warrior Classic Golf Outing. No rain this year! That morning, 88 members of the ECA community eagerly gathered for great golf, friendly competition, and comradery. Most importantly they all came together to show their faithful support of Eden Christian Academy.

Golfers thoroughly enjoyed the sunny day, beautiful course at Treesdale Golf & Country Club, and showing their skill in contests for closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, hole in one, and putting on the practice green.
We offer our congratulations to the winning team of Brian McDonnell and Luke Vittone (current ECA students and golf team members), Carter Ehms (ECA alumni and former golf team member), and Marshall Hood (friend). The team posted a 19 under par final score of 53.

What a pleasure to see current and former ECA athletes supporting the outing.
We are truly grateful for the amazing support shown by each of you who contributed to the success and outcome of this event!

We extend sincere appreciation to our three major event sponsors Ampco Pittsburgh, Hefren-Tillotson, and Fort Pitt Capital Group, our Warrior sponsor Mars Bank, and lunch/dinner sponsors, Alera Group, KLH Engineers, CDS Administrators, Inc., and Marianne Hall for their continued and generous support of Eden Christian Academy.
Here's a look at the 2020 Warrior Classic numbers

Golf Participants - 88
Tournament Sponsors - 8

We are happy to announce that the dollars raised are already making improvements for our ECA athletes.

The money from the golf outing was allocated for the baseball bleacher installation project at the Mt. Nebo Campus. The work included a new gate in the fence for entry to the bleachers, drainage, the concrete bleacher pad and sidewalk, bleachers, and landscaping of the area around the bleachers.

Here’s an exciting update! The funds were immediately put to work and all the preliminary work for the project has been completed (gate installation, drainage, concrete bleacher pad, and sidewalk). We expect to schedule the installation of the bleachers before the end of this year and landscaping will be completed in spring 2021 – just in time for the next baseball season!

We appreciate all our loyal golfers, donors, and event sponsors. Their commitment to ECA not only provided the funding needed for a tangible improvement to facilities, it was an investment in an athletic program that impacts young lives for Christ.

We acknowledge and thank those that supported the students at Eden Christian Academy through the annual golf outing.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is
the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21
Dear Parents,
It’s time to celebrate! The Lord has blessed us with an entire quarter of life together on campus without disruption.
Our students and faculty are healthy, we are progressing marvelously through our curriculum together, our extracurricular programs are experiencing great success (all of our varsity teams competed in playoffs last week!), and together we have already walked through five of our initial strategic planning surveys, laying the groundwork for some really rich dreaming, vision-casting, and strategic planning this winter and spring.
All the while we have been growing as the Lord has steadily added families to his school.
Are there uncertainties? Yes, we’re still living with contingencies. We remain prepared with multiple plans to fully execute our mission during unpredictable times, but we’re thankful for a start that has been more than we imagined it would be.
When we prepared in earnest over the summer for a successful transition back to an on-campus experience, we did so with confidence but also with humility. We knew that factors beyond our control could impact our best laid plans. We prayed for the Lord’s purposes to prevail and for wisdom and faithfulness to cooperate with those. It’s always more rewarding to keep in step with the Lord’s purposes than to need correction!
And, this is why our focus scripture for our strategic planning is Proverbs 19:21 which instructs us to proceed by faith, prayer, and humility, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
It is in this posture of confident humility that we have been surveying you each week, wanting to hear both praise and criticism, both dreams that resonate with us and dreams that challenge us, both your confidence and your doubts. We believe that the brightest future for Eden will be found in all of us having a voice in and ownership of our evaluating, dreaming, and strategizing for the future of God’s school. Our posture is one of believing that the diverse voices and experiences of the body of Christ at Eden, the illumination of the Word of God, and the Spirit’s guidance through prayer should all be brought to bear in this strategic planning year that will establish our trajectory for the next 3-5 years.
  • Thank you for your willingness to share your thoughts and ideas in emails, phone calls, personal meetings with me, and impromptu conversations in the parking lot and at sporting events.

  • Thank you for your financial sacrifice and your trust. The weight of our calling and responsibility to you is heavy, so thank you for your prayers for us.

  • And finally, thank you for your participation in our strategic planning exploratory surveys. We have two more to go, and then we’ll be sharing with you some high level summaries and a calendar of opportunities for us all to continue to dream and plan together in the Lord.
Our prayer is that through our journey together this year that God will bring our desires and our plans into alignment with His purposes, which will stand secure in the midst of uncertainty!

November 20, 2020

Our annual Thanksgiving Feast is on the calendar! This wonderful meal is specially prepared for our students by Medure's Catering and is an Eden favorite!

The lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered green beans, yams, stuffing, roll, milk, and dessert. The cost is $7.00.

You'll be able to order your child this delicious meal and, again this year, you will have the opportunity to purchase a meal to be donated to the Light of Life Rescue Mission. Every donated meal will be generously matched by Medure's catering, so one meal becomes two! If Eden families donate 500 meals, Medure's will make it 1,000. Together, the ECA family and Medure’s Catering donated over 3,400 meals to Light of Life last year. What a blessing it will be to those in need in our city!
