We are holding strong and will continue to do so as long as we are able. We have a handful of kids out due to family member positive cases in households. In addition, we have had a few quarantines among faculty and staff members as well but we have managed to rearrange things to accommodate. If you hear any crazy stories, they are probably true ;). At this time, we are not experiencing any spreading of cases among children in our classrooms and do not feel there is any reason to change our platform to virtual learning. Each school determines safety based on what is happening within their own walls and as such, we, as a united staff, have decided to stay face-to-face. We will continue to be face-to-face the week after Thanksgiving and see how the return to school goes after this first holiday. If needed, we will re-evaluate best and safe practices. Please continue to do your part in helping us during this holiday season to keep our students and staff healthy and our school building open.
Many of you have offered to help out and asked what you can do during this time. We are looking for volunteers to help with playground/recess duty so teachers can have planning time or a much needed break Monday-Friday from 10:30am - 12:45pm. Please click here to sign up for recess duty. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
At our recent faculty meeting, I asked the staff how to reduce the stress in their life. The answer was unanimous...CHOCOLATE and time! Thus, we are collecting candy to put in our teacher workroom as a token of appreciation for all of their hard work. If you would like to contribute, please send your sweet treat to the school office and we'll keep a full supply on hand!
Thank you all in advance for all you do in making this crazy time better! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. We have been blessed with great teachers, staff, parents and students! Stay safe and healthy.
