The last three months have been packed with events and travel: two full workshops, one on Cape Cod and one in Upstate New York as well as The Catalina Island Conservancy "Wild Side" show in Newport Beach, a Plein Air Painters of America exhibit at Helena Fox Fine Art, new work at Rogers Gardens Fine Art Gallery, Laguna Plein Air Invitational as a distinguished Guest Artist and a one-man show at the Minneapolis Club, here in the Twin Cities: all great opportunities.
Despite the requisite exhaustion associated with it all, I am truly grateful to those whose energies facilitated, organized, and made it all possible: Angela, Lorian, Jen, Victoria, Marie, Wil, Jack, Helena, Theresa, Margaret and many more.
None of us do this alone - so thank you to all of you who quietly, behind the scenes do your job to give folks like me an opportunity to shine.

Not all Composition is intuitive and solid precepts can be learned. It's important to understand why a design works so one can design well - consistently.
We will be dealing with the building of a picture from the ground up. Starting with the Linear Aspect of a picture we will address Balance, Unity, Variety/Interest & Contrast. We will then move into limited tone and finally, color. Enrollment is limited.
This studio course is exercise-based and will be held indoors at a private residence.
