Greetings Culinarians and Associates,
Holiday Dinner Follow-up
We enjoyed one of the best meals presented to us at this month's dinner meeting. Steven Schrader and his team at the Clearwater Casino wowed us with stations of Northwest favorites and their pastry chef displayed his talents with exceptional creations. I would like to thank the Team at the Clearwater for giving us an evening that will be hard to forget. Thank you.
Our Western regional ACF vice president, Carlton Brooks CEPC, CCE, AAC, was in attendance for our annual holiday dinner and apprentice auction. He expressed his thoughts in an email stating that "it has been a long time since I have had such a delightful experience while meeting with your board and then its members. You should be very proud of your chapter and its accomplishments". I would also like to thank Mark Linden for being the chapter host for our regional VP.
The annual silent auction to support the apprentice program was held at the Clearwater Casino during our reception. Gary and Elaine Fuller again made sure that everything was set up and collected for the auction. Thank you both for running the auction for the apprentices. I would like to thank all the businesses and individuals that donated to the auction. The prize of the evening was Chef Tamas's 6 course dinner going for top dollar. Thank you Tamas for giving your talents to this organization and the apprentices.
We had our annual elections for three board positions and the president and secretary positions. I was re-elected as president for two more years. JJ Meland was elected as secretary for two years. Janet has been our secretary for multiple terms and has done an exceptional job. Thank you Janet for all your help and support. I look forward to your support as one of the newly elected board members. The other two positions filled by Lyle Hyldahl and Daniel Griffith. I can't wait to start the year with our new board.
John Fisher is retiring from RTC this December and is making his plans to relax. John has been an active member of the ACF and is currently the apprentice coordinator. I can't begin to speak to all of Johns accomplishments, there are too many to count. Just that Johns expertise over the years mentoring students and culinary teams will be sorely missed. A party is being held at RTC on December 7th to celebrate Chef Fisher. Please come to show your support and maybe tell a story about John's earlier years. For more info,
Please take the time to slow down and spend time with your families this holiday season. I know that we are all very busy taking care of everyone and their events but don't lose sight of what is really important, your family. I wish you a very happy holiday and New Year.
Our next board meeting will be held at Puget Sound Skills Center on January 11th from 4pm to 6pm. Please check the site for all of the upcoming meetings and events. They are getting updated regularly.
Our Presidents dinner will be at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center on February 8th. Board meeting is 4pm-6pm, No host cocktails and passed Hors d'oeuvres is
6pm-7pm, and the plated dinner is 7pm-9pm. I hope to see all of you there.
