Lisa Reports:
Fabulous weather! Huge Classes! 570 total entries, 40 & 50 entries to a class!
Lisa Giltner's Sundancer had one of his best rides ever and proudly stood 6th at 1st level in a class of over 40 entries. Sundancer remained consistent in his quality of performance and placed a well earned 7th in a huge class at 2nd level!  We made our "pilgrimage" to the Yard Stop (where everyone in Atlanta shops for fall decorations) for the fabulous fall themed display in from to our stalls (that is our fall display in picture).  We rounded out our Atlanta Regionals adventure with a Bar-B-Que get together with Ann Gribbons' group. Our group is looking forward to 2017 Regionals in Wellington. It will be nice to have it closer to home.

Well Done Willingham!

reports from the USDF Region 3 Championships
Region 3 Championships report from a Jr Rider perspective

Firstly, we are thankful to have escaped most of the serious consequences of Hurricane Matthew the weekend before the Championships.  This caused disruptions as we all were busy battening down the hatches and we wish the best for all affected by the storm in their clean up and restoring their properties.
Arriving at Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships, the sun was shining and the facilities were beautiful.  Sandy Donavan and her team did a wonderful job keeping everything running smoothly.  A great turn out for JR/YR Championships!

 Report from
Harvest Days Dressage Show
October 22, 2016
Clarcona Horsemans Park, Apopka

 Janet Buckner
showed her Lipizzaner  Siglavy Presciana II-II

Janet Reports:
Clarcona Horse Park was the site of the Orlando Arabian Horse Club show during the weekend of October 22 and 23.  The first cool morning of the year (55 degrees at 6 a.m.) was a welcome change to the swelter of summer showing. The camaraderie was great, many of the competitors decorated their stalls with Halloween themes. One of my favorite show secretaries, Carlie Evans, as always did a wonderful job organizing a well-run show. The office was stocked with horse and people snacks and all of the awards were decorated with fall themed flowers.

Since Saturday was open to all breeds, I showed my Lipizzaner, Siglavy Presciana II-II in First -3 (both the First Level class and Test of Choice) for some more practice in showing, shipping and sleeping overnight at a new place.  We also had specific goals in mind for our tests and hoped our efforts would be rewarded.  While we didn't get a super-duper score, many of the training goals were addressed and improved upon, including working on those annoying, long-standing rider bad habits and helping my little A-type, overachiever Lipizzaner relax a bit more.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out that we were First Level Amateur Champion for that day, thus earning a nice ribbon and our choice of a new whip or a pad (black, gray or white)!  I highly recommend taking advantage of this show next time around. Small, close to home, well run and just plain fun!

Carol Bulmer showed Mr Promotion (Arab/Trakehner gelding owned by Ann Swinker-Kniffen in hand on Sunday at the OAHA "Spooktacular" Arabian Sporthorse Show and under saddle on Saturday at the Harvest Days Dressage Show. Carol and Promo won Reserve Champion Training Level and recieved first place 1st level test 1 open. Promo is headed for the Thanksgiving Arabian Show.
