November 2017
On Thursday, September 28 we hosted our 2017 Los Angeles Builders Ball® at the historic Beverly Hilton. It was an amazing night and thanks to the generosity of nearly 800 guests, we raised more than half a million dollars. The funds raised will go towards our Building a Greater Los Angeles campaign, helping to empower low-income families and individuals through homeownership, as well as support rebuilding efforts for regions affected by recent natural disasters.
On Monday, October 30 , in partnership with Delta Air Lines, Habitat LA dedicated our 800th home built since our founding in 1990. During the dedication, partner homeowner, Denise Harris and her family, were presented with the keys to their new home.

Da Vinci High School and our Habitat LA ReStores recently partnered together for DaVinci’s annual “survival” project and contest. This annual challenge had 50 students plan and construct a temporary shelter on their campus. All materials used to construct these shelters came from our ReStores.
If you are receiving annual income from an IRA, you are likely paying more in taxes each year. But there is a way you can reduce your tax bill and give back to your community with Habitat LA.
Beach Cities Friends hosted their 7th Annual Trivia Night in support of Habitat LA on September 23 at Vistamar School in El Segundo. This year’s contest was attended by approximately 110 competitors. Over $50,000 was raised in sponsorships and fund-a-need donations.
On October 24, Habitat LA dedicated six homes as part of a new community, Pueblo de Luz (Village of Light), in the city of Downey. Together, the Dorado, Gonzalez, Hernandez, Martinez, Moore, and Salazar families, Habitat LA staff, partners and sponsors celebrated the completed project.
