Alumni News

Sona Avetian (BS in Chemistry, 2017) I am currently a first-year graduate student at Purdue University working in Professor Libai Huang's lab. In addition to taking classes and teaching general chemistry lab, I am conducting research in solar energy conversion. My project consists of looking at exciton generation and dynamics in 2-dimensional perovskite crystal structures. I have also been exploring outside the lab, getting to know West Lafayette and the surrounding cities, such as Indianapolis. I have enjoyed many excursions to the surrounding hiking trails, and I also started volunteering at the local animal shelter.
Tyler Chozinski (BS in Chemistry, 2013) I'm currently in my 5th year at the University of Washington in Seattle, where I am pursuing a PhD in Chemistry in the laboratory of Dr. Joshua Vaughan. Our research is focused on the development and improvement of super-resolution fluorescence microscopy techniques and their applications to various biological problems. My research is focused on using expansion microscopy (ExM), structured illumination microscopy (SIM), and stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM) to study kidney pathology. My projected graduation is July 2018.
Tricia Ramsay (BA in Biochemistry, 2017) I was recently hired as a Medical Technologist at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, AZ. My job involves testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, blood bank, and microbiology. I'm excited to represent the Wildcats as I embark on this new adventure.
Zachary Rieger (BS in Biochemistry, 2017) I am currently working at Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., as a Research Associate I in the CDx Antibodies department. I hope to return to school in the near future to pursue a PhD. Bear Down!
Connor White (BS in Biochemistry, BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology, 2017) I am working for Varsity Tutors helping high school and college students taking chemistry and biology courses. I am also applying to PhD programs for the 2018 fall semester.
