1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Thanksgiving In Season and Out

Tis' the season! It's the month of the year where we typically put extra thought into what we're thankful for and celebrate it with the Thanksgiving holiday. What a beautiful time.

And while it truly is a beautiful time to do this, it is also very important for the other 11 months as well. Just as the off season of rest, strength and conditioning, team-building, camps and practice are crucial to make a sports season the best it can be, so practicing thankfulness all year round during all of the circumstances we face is crucial to looking back on a year and seeing a blessed year where we realize Jesus was with us the whole time and showed himself faithful through everything.

Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
Give thanks in ALL circumstances.

It's the will of God for us!

Think about some of the circumstances you've faced this past year. Can we say we were thankful in all of them? Probably not. Is it possible to be and should we try to be? Yes. And we should not wait to be happy and feel good to do so!

A thankful heart often takes intentional effort. It takes discipline and obedience in the times we are not feeling thankful. It's true. The feelings will follow. The Lord will reward a thankful heart. When we live in the will of God, that's what happens.

Do you remember the Veggie Tales song?
Because a thankful heart is a happy heart,
I'm glad for what I have, that's an easy way to start.
For the love that He shares, cause He listens to my prayers,
That's why I say thanks every day!

Especially if thankfulness is something we teach our children, it has to first be something we set an example for.

Virtuous Woman: Integrity

The goal of the FCA Virtuous Woman Curriculum is to present to women in the arena of athletics the privilege and challenge of learning and living out Biblical Womanhood in all areas of life. This goal is accomplished by introducing character traits found in female biblical characters that they can model in their own personal life.

This 12-session study is specifically designed for women in the arena of athletics and focuses on one of the four key values of FCA: Integrity. The study looks at female biblical characters within scripture that exemplify and illustrate many of the attributes that make up integrity.

Part 2 from Focus on the Family's Series,
"Male and Female: By Design"
by Jeff Johnston

This six part series confronts both the issue we're facing in our society today about male and female differences and how it intersects with what Christian's believe based on God's Word.

*This is in no way comprehensive but rather just a glimpse into a subject that requires extensive research and even more study in God's Word, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit. It simply sheds some awareness on something that is good to question and look for Truth about.

*We are looking at this series as a whole, not just one article. We understand there is vague wording that requires more research. We also recognize the lack of Scripture on some points, which is where we really need to look first.

*God extends immeasurable and unending grace and love to us. It's okay to be confused and to question. It's good to question. We just want that to motivate you to seek to find answers and to seek Jesus first in finding those answers.

*This is not necessarily reflective of the views of Winning Women or FCA.
