THE WASHINGTON POST
Earlier this month, our executive director Alan Rowsome was featured in The Washington Post where he expressed hope for the future of an important property in Fairfax County. The land up for discussion could be a future park or natural area if a deal can be reached. With NVCT's help, this property could be restored for future generations to enjoy. Read more.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY IN PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY
  • What: Trash Cleanup
  • Where: Jefferson Park, Veterans Park and Marumsco Creek in Woodbirdge, VA.
  • When: Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - noon
  • Additional Details: Hosted by Prince William Trails & Stream Coalition, the cleanup is part of a larger public outreach event on Plastics Pollution Prevention and Cleanup. YOUTH EVENT - URBAN BIRDS OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA

NVCT will be hosting a bird walk and lesson for youth! Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 8 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Annandale, VA. This program is designed to teach both children and parents what they can do to welcome our wintering birds into our yards through nurturing their natural habitat. You can expect activities like bird watching and identification, an outdoor nature walk and arts and crafts activities that can be brought home. For more information on how to register, click here.
