Hello! I just want to take a few lines of the newsletter to introduce myself to you. I’ve been in “the industry” for over 25 years—since I was old enough to work (dating myself here). I started as a server’s assistant in a little family restaurant in Mississippi and worked my way up to managing the Food and Beverage operations of a large seasonal resort in Alaska. Along the way, I picked up degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Administration.
Several years ago, I fell in love with the lodging side of guest service and found myself gravitating more toward front-desk operations and away from the restaurant grind—I’m not getting any younger, you know. Turns out, I really love paperwork! Strange, I know, but true.
I lived in Asheville a few years ago and got transferred out of town with my job. It didn't take me very long to realize that I needed to find my way back to the place that holds my heart—the mountains.
When I saw the advertisement for an innkeeper’s position at a well-respected B&B in Asheville, I thought “This is exactly what I want to do. It’s perfect for me!”. And here I am.
