November 2018 Issue

CPWC will celebrate its 50th anniversary
 February 2020!

Well happy Fall, y'all! ...Finally!

We had a record number of people attending the monthly program meeting last month. Special thanks to Robin Lamonte of Rooms Revamped for leading an interactive, candid and fun discussion on design trends, decorating, and creating your story within your home! And as always, sincere thanks to our program team for their care in creating a warm and inclusive environment to gather. Our next program meeting will take place Friday, November 9th at 10:30 at Karyn Porter's home. The theme is Hope on Four Legs and the author of "Travels with Mac'n Row," Row Henson, will be with us! And we plan to have the directory available!

We had a large group at Chris Cashman's house for the Evening Group Savvy Women meeting where Donna Finlayson discussed recent tax changes, concerns and potential impacts. Really interesting and informative! Please plan to join us this month on November 20 when Mike Boyce, our County Commission Chairman, meets with our Evening Group Savvy Women to share the direction and impacts of county operations.

This Friday, November 2nd Kristine and Jeff Ward will host First Friday at their home at 4240 Blackland Drive. Plan to drop by! It's so casual you can decide the day of and just come! Just bring an appetizer to share and a beverage.

The hiking group's now-annual Hike In took place October 21-23! Eight of our members hiked over 8 miles together! But not to fear, they aren't always going so far, so please feel welcome to join in on the next hike scheduled for November 8.

Missy Malmberg and Heather Rees are leading our charity group in support of Camp Hope and Kidz2Leaders! There has been a lot of work and a healthy group of our members have joined the effort to plan for events and the gala. Evening Group's Savvy women are coordinating a service event for December 15th! Consider coming to help with the service day or the gala or both! Many hands make light work....and make for a lot of fun as well!

We want to let you know about a new Interest Group, Single Ladies, for members living without partners. They are planing a dinner event on November 7th.

Hats off to our Family Activities team of Heather Peck, Deborah Watson and Lesli Asiello for really turning up the dial on our Halloween gathering at McFarlane Park! Always an amazing event with neighbors and friends! From the taco bar to the magician, it was a wonderful event for all ages.

We've highlighted here just a few of our groups and gatherings! Please feel very welcome to pop into any one of the activities; we would love to have you! Hope to see you soon! Happy Fall!
