THE RELEVANT RECAP
Dear Chamber & Community Friends,
Just giving all my friends out there in the community a heads up. I tried phoning many of you, but I just wore out! May 31, 2019 will be my last day as Chamber president. I will have been in this role 14.5 years. I have loved (almost) every minute of it and I certainly do love our community and the people in it. My plans will unfold and I can share them with you in the near future. My position will be re-evaluated and then posted in the New Year. In the meantime, we will work hard for you, advocating for business small and large in northwest Harris County!
Thank You for your ongoing support!
Sincerely,
Barbara Thomason
President
Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce

Midterm Elections Are Critical!
Voter information at www.HarrisVotes.com
Election Day is Nov. 6

Early Voting ends today!
Friends of Klein ISD is a group of community members who believe in the financial presentations by the district and believe Klein ISD has, and is, practicing sound fiscal measures. We know that to increase the safety of our children, to support school district employees, and to maintain the high quality of education the district provides to students while experiencing continued growth, more funding is required. We stand in support of a tax ratification election (TRE) should the district leadership call one in the future. Strong community support is required to ensure the success of the Klein ISD vision that all children enter with a promise and exit with a purpose.

Office Space Disrupted
GROWING WEALTH | GROWING LIVES
with Bobby Lieb

The business incubator was coming into its own as a legitimate economic development tool when I entered the economic development profession in early 2000. Incubators are bricks-and-mortar facilities offering small office or warehouse space for start-up companies at below market rates. These facilities are often subsidized by a local government, educational institution and/or an economic development agency. However, incubators included more than just affordable commercial space...

...Today, we are seeing the emergence of coworking space ... Some coworking concepts are taking a step further by introducing communal and chamber of commerce like activities in addition to many of the services captured from the incubators. Think of summer camp for small business...

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Charlene Armijo | Lolli and Pops
Lolli and Pops opened its newest location in Willowbrook Mall, a few doors down from the Apple store, with a VIP opening on Oct. 30th and a Chamber Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, Nov. 1st. Charlene Armijo, Chief Purveyor of the newest store, was a constant and devoted customer at the Lolli and Pops in The Woodlands so when they were ready to open their 64th store, Charlene was their lady! Lolli and Pops stores are corporate-owned. The Willowbrook store is the 5th store in the Houston area and the ONLY one with a beautiful party room. The store features candy from Mexico, Europe, Asia, Africa (no slave trade product), Retro candy and Vegan candy. Lolli and Pops specializes in gummies made with real fruit and offers assorted jars and containers that can be purchased, filled and refilled relatively inexpensively. It's a FUN place to be!
