Our big news this month is that the Ventress Library will be open on Sundays again! We are kicking off our expanded hours with a gala event on December 2nd. Sunday hours will be 1-5 p.m. from December through April. Join us on December 2nd for music, refreshments and themed activities for all ages. Details to come!!
The Ventress Memorial Library has closed the book on overdue fines! We went fine-free beginning in September, and we are hearing that our patrons are happy with the new policy! In general, overdue items will no longer accrue fines. You might be wondering--what does this mean for me? Books, DVDs, puzzles, and CDs from the Ventress Memorial Library will accrue no overdue fines. Patrons will still be charged for books that are marked as LOST or DAMAGED. The fines for LOST items may be removed if items are returned in good condition within a year. The Library will still charge fees for lost or damaged items, and materials requested and/or checked out from other libraries in our network will accrue fines if they are late. Museum passes and special equipment checkouts (such as hotspots, Kindles, or ukuleles) will still incur $5 per day fines when they are returned late, and rental books will incur a 25 cent per day fine when returned late. Visit your library and use your card, or get a new one, to take care of all your reading, entertainment, education and enrichment needs. It’s the best deal in town.
So come on down and use your library - we are here for you!
