Community Campaign Saves Long-Term Beds At The Adult Residential Facility

The campaign of health care providers, patients, family members and community members, including ARISE Members and MHASF Staff, forced the San Francisco Department of Public Health (DPH) to abandon its plan to close 41 permanent long-term psychiatric beds at the Adult Residental Facility (ARF), part of the Behavioral Health Center (BHC) at SF General Hospital, and replace them with 27 beds for short term use at the Hummingbird House Navigation Center.

On October 15th, DPH announced that all 55 beds at the ARF will remain long-term beds permanently after 14 of those beds serve temporarily as short-term navigation center beds for six months.


This victory shows what we can achieve if we work together and take direct action. Please join Mad Mob SF (see below) and continue working with ARISE when it reconvenes.
2019 MHASF Redefining Crazy Conference Was A Huge Success!!!

Over 250 people attended, presented at, and enjoyed the 2019 Mental Health Association of San Francisco's Redefining Crazy Conference on November 5 - 7, 2019 at Bespoke in Downtown San Francisco.

Plans are starting now for next year's conference!
