End of Year Appeal 2019
Family is our middle name...
At Jewish Family Services, we strive to care for our clients the same way they fight for their families.
"With my mother not being there, [my JFS caseworker] made me feel like I had a mom in her. Little by little, we’re getting to the point where we need to be at. You can say they stabilized my home!”
–Gerline, 2019 JFS client

Thank you for your support...
I am writing to you today to express my gratitude and appreciation for the contributions you have made to those who need our help and your support of JFS Orlando.

Although you have supported the programs of JFS Orlando in many ways over the years, you may not be aware that JFS Orlando depends on bequests, trusts, stock gifts and other forms of planned giving to achieve its continued growth in services provided.

We ask that you please consider remembering JFS Orlando when making your financial plans this year.  Over the past several months, JFS Orlando has explored a host of new initiatives and programs both to support existing services as well as cultivate new ones. Including JFS Orlando in any planned giving you make will allow us to continue to “save the world”.

It is at this stage of our careers and our lives that many of us are able to give back financially to those around us, just as others in the past contributed to our own lives over the years. Naturally, your financial advisor is the best source of advice regarding bequests.

Many thanks for your past contributions as well as your future consideration of funding for JFS Orlando programs supporting family stabilization, the fight against hunger, counseling and chaplaincy. If you have any questions about planned giving or about how to support any of JFS Orlando’s initiatives, please contact me directly at 407-644-7593 ext. 238 .

Sincerely,
Philip Flynn III
Executive Director
The Power of Giving: RIDE
The  Reliable Independent Drivers for the Elderly (RIDE) Program was created to make up for the significant lack of affordable transportation for the elderly. RIDE provides roundtrip rides to medical appoin tments or other essential services for low-income elderly and disabled adults in Central Florida, year-round and at no cost to clients! This, in turn, increases independence, promoting well-being and impro ving access to healthcare for program participants.
“If we didn’t have the RIDE program, we would have to change doctors, or just not go. Thank you for providing RIDE. It provides peace of mind. Merry can go to the doctors she trusts and get the care she deserves.”

-Ken, former JFS client

The Bully Within
By Jason Krause, MA –

Bullying is an issue which has captured the national spotlight in recent memory. What if a bully’s reach was so vast as to be inescapable? What if your biggest bully lived inside your own mind?
