President's Message

An oath is defined as a solemn promise, usually calling upon God to witness to “the truth of what one says or to witness that one sincerely intends to do what one says.”  In the case of the President, that oath includes the faithful execution of the law regardless of policy disagreement. The lawmaking powers are delegated to Congress, not the President. Unfortunately, the last President repeatedly ignored his oath of office. He refused to enforce or obey laws he did not like (i.e Defense of Marriage Act was not defended; War Powers Act was violated with Libya invasion; National Surveillance Act violated to spy on Americans and political rivals; the Affordable Care Act implementation was postponed to avoid consequences of a bad law; etc.). It is a sad irony that Democrats are typically the first to lecture the rest of us that “nobody is above the law” as they smoke pot, harbor illegal aliens, and dodge the draft. While the Kennedy family wrote the book on nepotism and sexual scandal, the Clinton family added several more volumes, including a section on buying foreign political influence. We can do better. As Republicans, we will continue to set the example.  We will continue to revere the rule of law, because we understand the meaning of an oath.

May God bless us all.
