Illinois Manufacturing Innovation Voucher
The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC) launched a new program to invest in the future of Illinois Manufacturers. The Illinois Manufacturing Innovation Voucher presents an opportunity for manufacturers to incorporate technology in their processes or products to sustain their competitive advantages. Using acquired knowledge from industry experts, voucher projects can help resolve minor technological issues or outline possible solutions for a more complex problem, resulting in innovation and market growth.

The Illinois Manufacturing Innovation Voucher will award up to $25,000 in match funding to:
  • Accelerate Technology Adaption
  • Identify and Implement Productivity Improvements
  • Overcome Organizational Growth Barriers

IMEC notes that voucher projects must be conducted in Illinois from existing Illinois manufacturers with between 5 and 500 employees. Also, projects are expected to be practical in nature and focus on productivity improvements and/or product development that lead to innovation and measurable gains.

Dontz Judges PTHS Competition
Adam Dontz, GLCEDC, was invited to be a judge at Pontiac Township High School's "Celebrating High School Innovators Competition" November 1, 2019.

Application for the event was open to all high school students (grades 9-12) who have implemented innovative ideas in their communities. Interested students were required to complete a one-page form on the program website and write a 1500-word personal statement describing who they are, what they have done in one of the five project areas, and why it matters. They are also encouraged to provide up to five megabytes of data (YouTube videos, artwork, poster presentation, blog entries, photos, etc.) to support their written application.

The event honors high school students across Illinois who have been able to meet current and emerging social needs through innovation in one of five areas: Arts, Media, & Literature; Business Entrepreneurship; Food, Health & Nutrition; Social Entrepreneurship; and Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) .

Please contact the GLCEDC office at 815.842.2900, to discuss how we can help you achieve your business objectives.
