November is Diabetes Awareness Month!
Camp Seale Harris honors the thousands of kids and teens who work hard every single day to live well with diabetes this Diabetes Awareness Month.
We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the 250+ volunteers and numerous donors who gave their time, talent & treasure to help children with diabetes and their families live well in 2019.
To all of the physicians, nurses, diabetes educators, counselors, activity leaders, Lions club members, WALK teams, and more - we can not thank you enough!
To all of our incredibly generous donors, you made an impact on more than 600 children and teens with diabetes. Gifts as small as $1 and as large as $60,000 helped a child with Type 1 Diabetes become more hopeful, and live longer and healthier lives.
You can support Camp Seale Harris all month long in several different ways! Will you pick just one way to help kids and teens with diabetes near you?

Congratulations and best wishes to Camp Registrar
Angie Teague!
Angie first became part of the Camp Seale Harris family over 12 years ago when her daughter Briley first came to Camp Seale Harris. In 2016, Angie joined our Camp staff as the force behind making sure every kid and family, as well as our healthcare volunteers, are registered and ready for camp, community, and walk programs. Angie returned to her career in higher education on November 4th as the Vice-President of Student Services at Judson College in Marion, Alabama. Thank you Angie for outstanding service to kids with diabetes! We wish you and the students you serve much success!

New Staff Spotlight!
Welcome Sarah Latimer
SDES-Camp Seale Harris is excited to welcome long-time volunteer and "Camp Mom" extraordinaire
Sarah Latimer
to our employee staff as Camp Registrar! Many in the SDES Camp Seale Harris family have known Sarah for the many years she has volunteered as on-site camp office assistant and self-described "Camp Mom" during overnight programs. Sarah joins on our employee staff in the Birmingham office, taking on the part-time role as Camp Registrar on November 2. Sarah is a Birmingham native, graduated with a BS in Education from Samford University, and has previously taught eighth grade science. She is a homeschool cooperative instructor and volunteers as a leader with Girl Scouts. Sarah says that after many years as a Family Camper and volunteer at summer camp programs, she's most looking forward in her new role to the opportunity to be working with T1D families and staff all year! Welcome Sarah!
