Give Thanks and Give Service
The Holidays are here! We at HandsOn Sacramento are happy to present a new set of volunteer opportunities for you to enjoy and celebrate this season.

This m onth, new partner agencies just joined the HandsOn Sacramento family such as Sierra 2 Center and The Laurel Foundation. Don't forget to check out what volunteer opportunities they offer.

We are also inviting everyone to our 2nd Family Volunteer Day on Saturday, November 23rd. This is a great opportunity for families to spend time together and to make a difference in our community.

We are also bringing back the Annual Holiday Giving List, a mini-site that contains volunteer and donation opportunities from different organizations in our community. With the Thanksgiving and Holiday season around the corner, what better way to celebrate than to get into the spirit of giving?

We also added a new page for our ongoing volunteer opportunities that you might have missed on our Calendar. Check out our Volunteer Calendar for more ways to volunteer. Click the links below to learn more!

The Laurel Foundation
The mission of The Laurel Foundation is to empower children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS, transgender youth, and the at-risk youth population through educational and support programs in a safe and trusting environment. The Laurel Foundation’s programs tackle the emotional and social challenges at-risk children and youth face by constructing environments that support the mental and physical welfare of the participants. Helping Those Affected by the Northern California Wildfires
On the night of Wednesday, October 23rd, the Kincade Fire broke out in Sonoma County, forcing the evacuation of thousands of people and prompted Governer Newsom to declare a statewide emergency.

There are many ways to help during the fire season. One of the many things we highly recommend is to do your research before volunteering or donating. This will ensure that your actions will not hinder the normal relief operations in place. As much as possible, PLEASE DO NOT SELF-DEPLOY.

Here are some useful links so you can determine which efforts will you want to do to help with the wildfire relief:
