In production for more than a year, the
new City of Richmond website is expected to go live soon. Employees are asked to review all pages of the website and to report any errors. If you find an error on
pages for DEC, please
email Karen. If you find an error on other department pages, please
email a screen shot, the URL and what browser and computer type you are using.
32nd BDA students featured in news report on ABC8 TV
Thanks to Tori Hymons, Jordan Christensen, Michael Sweeney, all of the 32nd BDA students and staff working on Oct. 9 for their willingness to be featured on the WRIC-TV ABC8 News feature about the Basic Dispatch Academy. Positive news reports such as this help to maintain the public's positive perception of DEC and help to recruit job candidates. Good work, everyone!
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Deborah Jackson, DEC's payroll specialist and breast cancer survivor, shared life-saving information and pink ribbons with each of the platoons at morning roll call and with other staff as well. Thanks, Deborah!
Deborah Jackson entered a correct answer of Bill Hobgood for the October trivia contest, which asked who wrote the first Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system used by the city of Richmond. The answer could be found in the October newsletter. Congratulations to Deborah, who choose from a 128 MB USB drive, a power bank or a wireless charging pad as a prize.
