Dear Members
November is traditionally a month for giving thanks for all we have in our lives. This month has always been a special month for me because of Thanksgiving and Veteran’s Day. I certainly feel fortunate and thankful to be associated with such an outstanding private country club. I am grateful we have a fantastic staff of professionals who are dedicated to bringing the highest levels of service and amenities each and every day they come to work. But mostly I am thankful to the Members who have chosen Dakota Dunes Country Club to be their home away from home as well as the tremendous support we have seen this year during the pandemic.
Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day. Make sure to tell a veteran friend of yours how much you appreciate their contribution to providing freedom for all of us. This country is a far better place because of the service of our selfless vets. Thursday, November 26th is Thanksgiving. This gives us all a day to reflect on the people and good fortune in our lives in which we are thankful. This is a great time for all of us to spend time with those people in our lives who are most important to us.
On Monday, November 9th, the golf course will be closed for the winter. We will have fairly decent weather the first week of November. After the 8th, temperatures will start to drop with highs in the low 30s. This will definitely freeze the turf and soil. For the rest of the month, the highs will be in the high 30’s to mid 40's and lows will be in the mid to low 20's or teens. Our Golf Maintenance Team will be blowing out the irrigation system this week. We have already begun work on all the other tasks associated with winterizing the golf course. We will begin putting the protective tarps on the greens based on temperatures to protect from winter kill, snow mold, etc... If we have a tarp on a green before we close, please skip that hole during your round.
Now is a perfect time to plan for the holidays. If your business has a holiday party every year, or if you want to plan a party for your friends, consider bringing it to the club. We would love for you to be able to show off your Club. We have the perfect size room for your event from a few friends in the restaurant, to a small/medium size group in the board room to large events in the banquet hall. No matter how big the event, we have the perfect space for you. Contact Tammi Granaas or Jeremy Heizelman to book your event now before the dates are all gone.
I would like to encourage all members to tell a friend or a neighbor about your experiences here at the club. The best source for new memberships at any private club is always from current members. If you know someone who might be interested in a membership, let Jeremy or me know so we can get them out to the club and experience this wonderful facility. Why not have your friends and neighbors enjoy all that this club has to offer with you?
I am very proud to be your General Manager. If you would like to chat about anything, please stop by the club and see me or send me an email. I’m here for you.
