News & Updates

November, 2020
Greetings from the Harraseeket Inn!

This month's newsletter is in an entirely different format due to rather abrupt changes at Constant Contact. Navigating the new site in order to rebuild the newsletter format from scratch proved to be a difficult challenge. "Progress" is suppose to make things easier but this task was anything but. There will be missing links and information, for which I apologize in advance. Also, the format must be two paragraphs long because apparently people don't read more than two paragraphs.

We hope this approaching holiday season finds you and your loved ones in good health. This has certainly been a challenging year. Our Thanksgiving celebrations will look a bit different at the inn but will be just as dazzling as ever. We're serving a "reverse chef-served buffet" which will allow safe distancing according to CDC guidelines. Please call us at 1-800-342-6423 if you wish to join us or have any questions. We have just a few seating times left! Sparkle Weekend will have a new format this season as well, to keep everyone safe while having a great time. Check out the schedule of events!

With best wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving,

Penny Gray,
The Gray family

There's a new store opening in Freeport that we're very excited about! Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, who host the Common Ground Fair annually, is opening a new venue right here in town called the Maine Organic Country Store. Check out the information on this link and be sure to visit when you come!
Halloween ghosts and goblins were few and far between this year, but we had a surprise visit from our General Manager Josh Cushing and his family, which was a real treat! His wife made their costumes! As for the lack of trick or treating, Camp Sunshine came up with a great idea for the kids. A Giant Pumpkin Hunt! They put big two story inflatable pumpkins on top of key buildings in different towns within the Portland area, and the hunt was on! We were honored to be one of the chosen locations, and "Jack" looked great, greeting guests from atop our port chochere! Read more at

This Month's Trivia Question

November Special
Nancy and Penny Gray
Yesterday was Nancy Dyer Gray's birthday. She would have been 88. Boy do I miss her. This is a photo of me and my mom in the good old days, pre-Covid, when our Grand Holiday Buffets were a lavish extravaganza overseen by the innkeeper herself!
