“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

As we approach this special time of year when we celebrate Thanksgiving, I wonder how often we give thanks in all things. I know we gather as families and church families to give thanks and thank God for His blessings during this time of year, but do we give thanks every day? Can we give thanks for the trials and difficulties that come into our lives? I know this year has been challenging for all of us and for some individuals, this COVID virus has devastated many lives and families. In times like these, can we give thanks? The scripture is clear that we must give thanks in all thanks because it is God’s will. I can tell you from personal experience that when I give thanks for the trials that have come into my life, I draw closer to God and my mind is set on Him and not my circumstances. I honestly believe when we follow God’s will and give thanks in everything which includes the bad things that happen to us in life, God will bless us more than we expect! My challenge for all of us is to give thanks everyday in all things not just during Thanksgiving celebrations. It will cause us to experience His peace and joy and I believe when people look at our lives, they will want what we have!

I want to personally invite all our Ministers and their wives to a special Christmas banquet that will be held on December 7th at 6:30 p.m. The location will be at the HBC unless changes need to be made for social distancing. We will enjoy a great meal and some music as we celebrate our Saviors birth! I hope that every Pastor and Staff including wives, will attend this special evening!

I am praying for each Pastor and their congregations as God works in every church and every life! We are moving into a season where we can minister to many people and share the love of Christ. May we all be sensitive to the needs in our communities and show them that we love them, and that God loves them!
