Development Spotlight:
Located adjacent to Discovery Park of America, Houser Creek Crossing is home to 2 hotels. The Sleep Inn / MainStay Suites opened late August 2019, and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, opened in September 2020. Both hotels boast indoor pools, fitness centers, and meeting rooms. Unique hotel features include themed Kid Suites inspired by Discovery Park exhibits at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The Sleep Inn / MainStay Suites has an ever popular grilling and gathering patio behind the property on the Discovery Park of America fence line. Another feature that entices groups and individuals who are visiting Discovery Park of America is the pedestrian gate that offers a welcoming back door entrance to the DPA campus.

As one of the largest Timber Frame structures in Tennessee, the Pavilion at Houser Creek serves as a cozy, inviting open air venue for weddings, family gatherings and music events. This unique venue offers extensive versatility with many optional amenities such as tented sides with windows, rolling bars, spectacular X-back chairs, bicycle cart table, heaters, fireplace with fire attendant and more.

Houser Creek Crossing boasts spectacular medians and landscaping with sculptural
components. Some sites are subdivided and ready for building and others have flexibility for future development needs. Located in an opportunity zone with prime, fertile land for development, this is a must consider spot for the business of your dreams. This development is truly the field of dreams on so many levels. What was and is the Graham family’s agricultural land has become a sought after development site. Discovery Park of America built in the middle of the Graham’s family farm in 2013, and the possibilities of growing beyond are ever reaching which is closely aligned with the DPA mission of “inspiring to see beyond”.

I-69 Updates:

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the section of I-69 that runs
alongside Discovery Park from a little northwest of the former Wingfoot Golf Course to Reelfoot Avenue was the first of three projects that encompass the I-69 loop around Union City. The section to the southwest down to US 51 was the second section. Both segments have been completed up to final grading which means they are ready for paving. Currently in the construction phase is the section a little northwest of the former Wingfoot Golf Course to US 45 and US 51 about halfway to Fulton, Ky. TDOT anticipates that all three segments will be completed and paved by fall of 2023. This will open the entire Union City loop. The remainder of the project, including the exchange in Fulton and the section south of Union City all the way to Dyersburg, are currently in various phases of development.
New Hotel Updates:
The new Hampton Inn off of Highway 51 is currently under construction. The tentative opening date is May 2021. This hotel will have 75 rooms and is in a prime location near the new I-69 project
