Enroll now for Education for Ministry in January  

Enrollment for an EfM class is open now for all years of the program from now until November 15, 2021. The class offers a great opportunity to study scripture, church history and theology in a deep and meaningful way.

EfM is a four-year course that meets weekly via Zoom and from time to time in person. It is a great way to learn about the Christian faith with a group of fellow Christians, to study scripture, and have the opportunity to think and discuss things that matter today from the perspective of our faith tradition.

While the curriculum covers four years of study, students can sign up for a year, take time off if needed and pick up their studies when it makes sense for their lives. Classes are held from January through May, with the summer off, and again from August through November. Because this course is presented on Zoom, it is open to anyone throughout the diocese. Albany standing committee reverses policy, opens door to same-sex marriages

The Diocese of Albany, the last remaining American diocese in The Episcopal Church to ban same-sex marriage, will now comply with General Convention’s mandate to make marriage rites available to all couples. Click here to read more.

CLERGY TRANSITIONS
Katherine and Chris Doyle announce new call:

The Very Rev. Katherine Doyle announced plans to step down as Rector of St. Thomas, Louisville and as the bishop’s Director of Youth and Young Adults following her husband Chris’ new call to serve as the executive director of The Boys Home of Virginia, a mission of two Virginia dioceses. Chris currently serves the diocese as chair of the board of All
Saints Center. Katherine’s last Sunday at St. Thomas will be January 9. You can read the full announcement here.
