SBA Kansas City District Office Sees Increase in Lending Activity for FY2021
KANSAS CITY, MO – Michael Barrera, District Director for the SBA Kansas City District Office announced it reached $582,323,800 million in funding to small businesses through more than 948 traditional loans for fiscal year (FY) 2021. “In the midst of a once-in-a-generation pandemic, the SBA’s mission-driven team delivered a record number of SBA’s traditional loans to our nation’s small businesses” Barrera said. “Our local banks and credit unions went above and beyond anything they have ever done over the last year and a half. In addition to making Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and processing forgiveness for these loans, they have also made millions of dollars of capital available to small businesses in eastern Kansas and western Missouri. It’s a testimony to the efforts of the lenders that so many loans were made and enabled small businesses to expand and grow during this difficult economic time. We extend heartfelt thanks for their continuing efforts to help small businesses thrive.”
