EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF
GRAND SLAM CLUB/OVIS
Grand Slam Club/Ovis is one of the oldest hunting organizations in the United States. It was started as Grand Slam Club by Bob Householder in 1956 following a 1948 magazine article by Grancel Fitz titled "Grand Slam in Rams" (at which time only about 20 hunters had taken all 4 North American Wild Sheep). Dennis Campbell took over in 1990 after Mr. Householder's stroke in 1989. The "Ovis" designation (signifying international Sheep, Goat, and Ibex hunting) was added in 2001 (thus GSC/O). When Mr. Campbell died in 2018, Mark Hampton was elevated from being a Director (for 7 years) to Executive Director. So MARK HAMPTON IS ONLY THE THIRD EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IN THE 65 YEAR HISTORY OF GRAND SLAM CLUB/OVIS. The organization has donated over $10,000,000 to hunting and conservation. It's membership consists of avid mountain hunters, with many having taken the Grand Slam as well as the Ovis and Capra World Slams and the North American Super Slam (Mark Hampton included).
