Dear Friends,
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. The blessings in my life are abundant beyond measure, and my gratitude is overwhelming during our holiday devoted to thankfulness. From a spiritual perspective, I find that when I can simply be grateful for what I have, even more blessings arrive in my life. I hope this is true for you in 2022!
When Judy and I entered a two-year seminary program in 2009, we were asked to identify our ministry, and what Spirit was asking of us. I knew instantly, “I stand for the children.” Most people agree with me that nothing is more important than our children. As a result, I have been working tirelessly for 15 years as a volunteer, coaching and mentoring children. This past February, I took office as the (volunteer) President of Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America, for a two-year term. We currently serve more than 10,000 youth and adult volunteers.
One of my more ambitious goals during my term is to bring Scouting to as many disadvantaged children as possible. Would you consider helping me achieve my goal with a donation to Secure the Adventure? A generous board member has offered a $25,000 matching grant, so your donation of $10 turns into $20, $50 turns into $100, $1,000 turns into $2,000, and… well, you get the idea!
Or text SCC7 to 71777
Or the old-fashioned way. You can send me a check made out to Suffolk County Council, BSA.
No matter how you send it, it is doubled! So, thank you so much for your help if you can afford to do so!
This month’s article explains why you need to explore all your alternatives before you blindly renew a lease. The bottom line is that whether you move or not, a marketplace analysis should be done prior to every lease renewal. It may reveal substantially better options, and at the least, it will provide ammunition for renewal negotiations with your existing landlord.
Stay safe, my friends. The entire team at Hunt joins me in sending our best wishes for a safe and healthy holiday.
