Chamber Buck Season!
Chamber Bucks Season is upon us! Some businesses have even put in their Holiday Bonus orders with us already! We are so excited for another great big season of Chamber Bucks and keeping our dollars in our local economy. Just a reminder that last year in just the months of November and December we sold OVER $117,000 worth of Chamber Bucks all of which stayed right here in our local economy.

As of RIGHT NOW (Mid November) we are already at $110,000!
This is Amazing Sault Ste Marie! Please share about this program with your friends, family and coworkers. This program is so easy to use and so beneficial to our local economy.
*You do not need to be a Chamber Member to purchase Chamber Bucks, you just need to be a member to reimburse them*

Call us to place the order and often times we can have them ready for pickup on the same day.

Wondering where you can spend those Chamber Bucks? Below is a list of the current businesses that accept Chamber Bucks. If you dont see your business on the list, please call us at the Chamber today to get added to the list before the busy holiday season approaches. Your business isn't going to want to miss out on all these Chamber Bucks that are being distributed!

Ambassadors
The Sault Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to add some new Ambassadors to the Club. Ambassadors meet once a month on the first Tuesday of the month here at the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce. We discuss local events, activities, and news. We share what is learned at meetings with our businesses and the community. Ambassadors are also invited to all the Ribbon Cuttings of the Chamber to show support for new businesses in the community. Dues for Ambassadors are $25 per year but the amount made off of dues is donated to the organization of the Ambassador Club's choosing after a vote at the end of every year. The donation usually ends up being in the $500 range. Anyone can be a Chamber Member just as long as you own or work for a business that is a Chamber Member.
If you have any other questions please feel free to give the Chamber a call at 906-632-3301 or email [email protected]

Thank You Cloverland!
DAFTER, Michigan (November 11, 2021) — High winds across the Eastern Upper Peninsula caused widespread power outages throughout Cloverland Electric’s five county service territory Thursday. At its peak, the outage event spanned more than 90 different locations with affected 7,200 co-op members mid-afternoon. Cloverland Electric advised members without power by 8 p.m. to activate medical back-up plans and to make arrangements to ensure overnight safety. While most outages were concentrated in Chippewa and Mackinac counties, crews from all five divisions continued restoration efforts until mandatory safety rest was required. Approximately 2,200 members were still out of power at 10:30 PM, but crews were able make more progress so that less than 500 members remained out of power overnight.
Cloverland Electric reminds the public to stay clear of downed power lines and report them by calling 1-800-562-4953 or local law enforcement agencies. Cloverland encourages members with internet access or mobile data to stay tuned to www.cloverland.com and Cloverland Electric’s Facebook page for latest updates on outages and restoration efforts.
Cloverland Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned utility located in Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula. With over 4,000 miles of line and 43,000 meters, Cloverland serves 34,000 residential, commercial and industrial members in Chippewa, Mackinac, Luce, Schoolcraft and Delta counties.
Tribe establishes COVID-19 Rescue Act Vaccination Lottery to help reduce spread of COVID-19
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.— The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors has established a COVID-19 Rescue Act Vaccination Lottery to encourage tribal members and team members to get vaccinated to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The lottery will include three team member drawings and three tribal member drawings per month from December 2021 through April 2022. Eligible winners will receive $5,000 each.

To enter the vaccination lottery, participants must complete and submit only one entry form on the tribe’s website, www.saulttribe.com. Eligible participants will automatically qualify for the next month’s drawings if they did not win during the prior month.

To be eligible to participate in the lottery, tribal members and team members must be 18 and older as the entry date. Drawing winners must provide proof they received at least one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccination as of the date the entry form was submitted. (As of the enactment of the vaccination lottery, approved vaccines are the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.) Tribal member drawing winners must submit proof of their enrollment in the tribe as of their entry form submission date and winning date. Similarly, team member drawing winners must submit proof of their employment with the tribe as of their entry form submission date and winning date.

Tribal members who are also team members are eligible to enter both drawing categories and are eligible to win up to one prize from each drawing category. All other eligible participants may win only once.

The vaccination lottery drawing will be administered by the independent third-party accounting firm, Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth. To view the complete vaccination lottery rules and complete the lottery entry form, please go to https://fs29.formsite.com/SaultT/bpxrit2ewm/index.html beginning Nov. 5.

The vaccination lottery program will be funded with the tribe’s American Rescue Plan Act state and local fiscal recovery funds and other federally approved vaccination funding received by the tribe.
