Message from Our President

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall weather and starting to plan for the holiday season.

In our November meeting on November 18th, we will vote on our Community Partners and Board for 2022. We will also have a Thanksgiving luncheon during our regular meeting as a thank you to everyone for making this organization a great success. The cost is free to members and a $10 cost for guests.

Also, at our November meeting, we will collect supplies from the Community Partners' Wish List and place them in large boxes for wrapping at the meeting. Please be sure to take a look at their Wish List and bring whatever you can. If you cannot make it to the meeting, contact me for an alternate collection point.

Our Holiday Luncheon for December will be held at Cucina Cangemi in Mandeville from 11 am to 12:30 pm on December 16th. We will order lunch and give our Community Partners their remaining donations for the year.

We are looking forward to seeing you on November 18th.

To thank our members for their support and perseverance through the past year, we are having a Thank You Luncheon during our November General Meeting. We hope all of our members and their guests can join us. Please let us know if you plan to attend through this short form. Guests are certainly welcome for a $10 contribution.

Per our tradition, we will all bring items that our 2021 Community Partners can use. Instead of wrapping each item, we will collect them all in pretty boxes to present. Their Wish List can be found on our Website or through this link.

Another important part of this meeting is voting on our 2022 Community Partners. We have five organizations nominated. Members will select four from the following area non-profit organizations.
We will hear a short presentation from each one, but you might want to check them out on their websites through the above links.

We will also vote on our 2022 Board Members and collect input on what type of Activities and Speakers you want the board to arrange for 2022.

Community Partners
It is that time of the year again! We will choose our Community Partners for 2022 at our November Meeting. We will also be collecting items on our 2021 Community Partner's Wish Lists.

Heidi had to cancel her October Fest, but she is planning her 12th year of Holiday Market for four nursing homes. It is a free Christmas shopping experience for the residents with new or nearly new donated items. More to come on this event!

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s 50th Anniversary
Community giving and generosity has always fueled Mary Bird Cancer Center and this year marks not only 50 years of providing comprehensive care to cancer patients, but also 50 years of generous philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, schools, and many others.

These decades of giving have provided us with resources to surround each patient with the most comprehensive and individualized care available in the region.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is hosting a special fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $50,000+ to support cancer patients and their families across the region.

While we don't have a major event until the 17th Annual Crawfish Cookoff in April, we do have a few ways you can support the HH.

On November 19th we will host Hospice House Lip Sync Challenge. You can participate as either a performer or audience. Good times are sure to be had!
We also have two raffles; one for 100 bottles of wines and liquor and one for Saints tickets.

Finally, you can own your very own Hospice House! Houses come in two sizes and are primed and ready for you to customize them.

'Refresh, Restore, Renew: Healing Ourselves in a Wounded World' 1st Annual Women's Conference sponsored by the Women's Center for Healing & Transformation, scheduled for Saturday, September 18, has been postponed due to the parish-wide state of emergency with COVID-19's current surge and its critical impact on hospitals in our area and across the state. World of Wonder, WOW - It is time to start donating to support the WOW Summer Camp for kids ages 3-5 at the Mandeville - Lacombe Head Start. Your $175 donation helps give an educational camp to one toddler for the summer!
