Association Update

CAAC/AFRA Cooperation Project Update

AFRA has been working to expand global recognition and acceptance of AFRA's BMP. AFRA has engaged with the CAAC on a major project which will provide recognition and acceptance of our BMP for aircraft disassembly. This is important because it would provide a path for BMP accredited organizations to seek a limited CCAR-145 certification from the CAAC for teardown capabilities.

Stay tuned to AFRA newsletters, social media and our website for more information as we progress on this project.

At the AFRA member meeting in June 2022, a presentation was given by Envisa on aircraft end-of-life sustainability, issues and opportunities. Envisa will be providing EASA with a white paper discussing initiatives and recommendations to increase the sustainability and environmental efforts.

Part of Envisa's response includes a wider application of the AFRA BMP for disassembly and recycling. AFRA will update the membership with more information as it becomes available.
