Blanco County Community Resource Center

Welcome to our November 2022 Newsletter

Hi Community Resource Centers,

Happy Fall!

It’s been a long, hot summer, and we are ready for cooler temperatures. Pumpkin spice is in the air and scarecrows, pumpkin patches, and spooky creatures are beginning to appear on porches and in businesses. We at CRCTX enjoy all the fun fall activities our community’s put-on, and often join in with games and prizes. As members of our communities, we try our utmost to embody our motto, “We are a FORCE for good.” FORCE=Faith-driven, Open-hearted, Reachable, Committed, and Encouraging. As the weather begins to turn colder, we intend to heat up our activity to better prepare our clients for the Texas winter.

Autumn whispered to the wind, “I fall; but always rise again.” Angie Wieland-Crosby

Sincerely,

Dawn Capra

PAST EVENT: MARIGOLD FESTIVAL + TRUNK-OR-TREAT

Our Blanco County Site Director, Dawn Capra and Site Coordinator, Alyce Sierra, attended the Marigold Festival this year. They had a wonderful time getting to know the community and sharing the resources we have available to them. They also attended a trunk-or-treat in Johnson City the next day where they were able to pass out candy and CRC goodies.

Dawn also attended the Community Block Party in Johnson City where kids were able to climb fire trucks, go into ambulances, and talk to police officers. We shared a table with the new Veterans Services Officer, Wendy Strunk. We love getting out in the community and look forward to participating again next year!
