The 195th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky will be held in person November 11-12. The Eucharist service on Friday, Nov. 11, Morning Prayer, and the Bishop's address on Saturday, Nov. 12 will be live streamed. You can view the live stream on the Cathedral's facebook page here.

On Saturday, October 15th, Grace Church, Hopkinsville hosted a Celebration of the Rev. Aaron McNeil. The Rt. Rev. Terry A. White celebrated, and the Rev. Stephen Spicer preached.

The Rev. A. H. (Alexander Hamilton) McNeil (aka Aaron McNeil, a name by which he is fondly remembered by his community today), was a pioneer, churchman, educator, and community leader, as the first African American Episcopal clergyman (deacon) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He was born, October 10, 1858 and served faithfully as the first pastor (deacon in charge) of the Mission of the Good Shepherd, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, until his death in Hopkinsville, January 14, 1901. Come to this special observance as we remember and celebrate his life and the ongoing community ministry that continues in his name to this day through the Aaron McNeil House. Making decisions is a part of life. All of us are constantly having to make choices, great and small, and these choices make up the pattern of our lives. The purpose of this weekend program is to explore the role of prayer in making life choices. How do we discern which of the options before us represents “the will of God” for our lives? How can we learn to recognize the movement of the Spirit in our prayer as we consider the choices before us? The program will include teaching and group discussion as well as some time for individual reflection. The Board of Trustees of Sewanee Recently held its annual meeting. Several members of our Dioceses attended as committee members, and Bishop White attended as Bishop Trustee.

Carol Wagoner, a former administrator of the Diocese of Kentucky for 20 years, died on October 18th. Let us give thanks for Carol's life and ministry. We pray for her family and all who mourn. May light perpetual shine upon her. Click here to read Carol's obituary.

Anti- racism training is required for all ordained persons, professional staff, and those elected or appointed to committees, commissions, agencies, task forces, and boards as well as vestries and Church staff in accordance with Resolution 2000-B049 of The General Convention.

Dismantling Racism Training workshops will be offered again this fall beginning in August. Opportunities are given for in-person and virtual trainings, with weekday or Saturday options. Saturday, November 19th - In-person at All Saints

The Sacred Ground series is part of the Becoming Beloved Community initiative of The Episcopal Church, a long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. Those who have been part of a Sacred Ground Circle know the impact of that experience. In order to increase the work toward Becoming Beloved Community, a database is being created of those who have participated in a circle, have facilitated one, or would like to be a participant. I'm writing to ask for your support of All Saints Center in Leitchfield, KY. It's been a transitional time at All Saints with the closing of the Center in 2020 due to the pandemic and only a partial opening in 2021. Our Director, Bill Beam, and his team did an amazing job of minimizing expenses during that period and maintaining the beauty of that sacred space.

Thankfully, 2022 has seen the full re-opening of the Center and the return of our youth to the summer camp as well as adult groups coming on retreat. Our board is excited about the future of the camp and understands the important place it holds for both youth and adults throughout our diocese and beyond. Much has been done to improve the camp experience, including adding a boathouse to the riverfront and constructing a labyrinth in a peaceful spot just behind the inn. Also, a disk golf course has been laid out on the grounds, which winds its way through the upper and lower camps and through the woods in between. We’re working now to spruce up the lower camp with building repairs and new paint.
