Tell us more about what you do at Endeavors.
I basically make sure our Migrant Services programs and systems run smoothly! I manage the way we’re collaborating with our partners, supporting any type of programming for our development system, writing policies and manuals, monitoring compliance, the list goes on!
What do you like about working for Endeavors?
I really like the population that we work for. There are not a lot of government-funded resources for the migrant population, and I think it’s so important to advocate for mental health services for the Hispanic community. I feel like I get to be a part of something important by providing resources.
What do you wish people knew about your team?
This is the most diverse team I've ever worked with! And everyone is really here for the cause.
What keeps you going?
The mission that we have is truly benefitting people who need it. As an immigrant myself, my bond to the work we do is so strong because I can picture myself and my family in our programs. It really touches home.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Life won’t turn out the way you expect! But even if it’s not what you had planned, it will be amazing.
What does success mean to you?
I'll always remember one client who had lost everything: her kids, her home, her job. And her definition of success was just being happy with herself and who she was. It wasn’t about how much money you have, what title you have, how much you've done. I've tried to live by her words ever since.
What would you call your theme song?
All my friends know I love sad songs! They just make me feel better. My playlists are always moody, and I love it.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I have a master's degree in forensic psychology, and I was able to work on a case with the innocence project for a wrongful conviction.
