History and Culture
Our final History and Culture classes of 2022 meet this week. On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 2 pm, Andrée Aelion Brooks will discuss Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean (11519). The lecture explores the fascinating but lesser known history of the Jewish legendary figures involved in illegal trade off Port Royal, Jamaica, in the seventeenth century.

The following day, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 1 pm, new instructor Andrea Grover, adjunct professor of Humanities at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, leads a single-session course on the Past and Present Jews of Italy (11550). Delve into more than two centuries of Jewish life in Italy, with documented evidence of a longstanding and vibrant community.

The start date for Personal Essay Writing: A Way to Make Meaning of Your Life (11381) has been postponed until Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

A new four-week session of Postural Therapy Movement (11560) has been added and is open for registration. Class begins on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
