Boxes are due back on November 14th
This project is very dear and close to my heart as I know firsthand what is like to have a hard time during the Christmas season, as well as personally experiencing the joy of receiving my own Christmas box!
I am overwhelmed with excitement to share that we as a community can make a HUGE difference in a child’s life this Christmas- through the gift of giving with our shoe box project! This time of year, we spend extra money on so many things.
Just think, with just a few items and a few extra dollars we can make a child smile. Many of these children have been suffering throughout the year and with some compassion and generosity WE can make a difference for them this Christmas. Help us reach our goal of gifting 100 boxes to children in need by stopping by Voiteli Wellness Center!
Growing up in Brazil, I’ve seen poverty firsthand. I lived it! I still see it every year when I go home, and I know how far a few items will go! We are very blessed to be able to buy hairbrushes, toothbrushes, socks, accessories whenever we want to, but many kids don’t have that privilege. You can add essential items, toys, accessories, school supplies, you can even add a personal note from you and your family! The Placerville SDA Church has raised 103 Christmas Shoeboxes, and I am challenging our Voiteli Family to raise another 103 (At least!!!) and make Christmas very special to 206 kids around the world! And you can even track your package to see where it will end up! The boxes are now available at Voiteli. After you fill them up just bring them back to Voiteli with a $10 donation for international shipping- we’ll take care of the rest! We started this project 10 days ago and we have already donated 40 boxes. Only 63 more to go! Help us reach our goal today
Let’s team up Voiteli family. We can achieve greatness together!

It's that time of year...
Adopt-A-Family is here!
It's that time of year again: time for togetherness, comfort, celebration, and peace. Unfortunately, here at The Center, we are faced with the reality that this season will not bring those feelings to everyone. Every year our clients face uncertainty, loneliness, and broken hearts for their children. For a family who cannot even count on the next meal, the luxury of gift-giving seems miles away; but you can help.
Our Adopt a Family program is back, and this year more than ever, your generosity can bring joy in the wake of what feels like an endless tragedy.
But how can you make a difference?
We have a few different options to be involved!

Holiday Shopping Boutique
Adopt-A-Family: This program is near and dear to the hearts of our community. It provides an opportunity to go beyond the basic necessities the majority of us take for granted, and gives families in need the chance to ask for something really special.

Holiday Shopping Boutique: If you wish to donate new, unopened, unwrapped gifts to our Holiday Shopping Boutique, please let us know so we can send you a popular list of wanted items. This boutique offers the opportunity for families to pick out their own items, enjoy the fun of holiday shopping for themselves, and pick out special gifts for their families.

Adopt-A-Family cash fund: If adopting a family isn't on your list this year, consider making a one-time or reoccurring cash donation to assist The Center in providing gifts to families this holiday season.
Treating Common Bugs and Germs in Kids
“Common colds are very infectious because the viruses that cause them are respiratory, meaning they’re spread through the air and can infect anyone close by. In this article, we will share how you can protect your children from common bugs, like those that cause the common cold, and also give signs of when you should contact a health professional for help.”

November 14th
SBC and Tahoe Silicon Mountain are excited to announce the return of Tahoe Pitch Camp and Tahoe Pitch Showcase, a series of workshops culminating in a showcase for Tahoe/Truckee entrepreneurs, startups, and founders to present to the community their innovative companies and& ideas.

On November 14th at 6pm in Truckee Town Council Chambers, entrepreneurs will present their pitch deck for the chance to win prizes and receive feedback from an expert panel of judges, as well as the audience of community members.
Tahoe Pitch Camp, a series of workshops delivered by Sierra Business Council, is designed for entrepreneurs to hone their skills, learn about successful pitch techniques, and craft a winning pitch. Taught by SBC’s Kristin York and other seasoned mentors in collaboration with Tahoe Silicon Mountain, participants will hone their presentation skills and information into a five-minute presentation, referred to as a pitch, identifying their value proposition and their organization’s capital needs. The Showcase will feature the finalists of the entrepreneurs from the Pitch Camp.
