Hello NECC Community! Fall is here, the rain has returned, and our gardens are happy. As we enter this season, we are excited for new adventures and new programs. Between extending our weekend hours and adding additional youth programs, we’ve got lots in store at the NECC this November, so check it out!

The Community Fund

Do you (or someone you know) want to participate in fitness, wellness, aquatics, and community-building programs, but do not currently have the financial means?

Apply to participate in the Community Fund, which aims to remove financial need as a barrier to programs that support our neighbors' physical, emotional, and social needs. Learn more!

As we approach the holidays, we encourage you to check our website for the most up to date schedule before coming into the facility. If you are trying to keep up your fitness while your favorite instructor is out of town, make sure you head over to our On Demand Library. We have dozens of classes available whenever you need them - all included in your regular NECC Membership!

More Pickleball Times for the Picking

We now have more time available for Pickleball! In addition to early morning times on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the gym is now available for Pickleball on Monday (best for experienced players) and Wednesdays (best for beginning players), from 12:30-2:30pm. Drop-in Pickleball is member led.

Next Friday, November 4, the stairwell to the pool in the Women’s Locker Room will be unavailable. Instead, please access the pool through the Universal Locker Room or enter through the pool lobby.

Weekend Facility Closure

The NECC facility will close at 6pm today and remain closed all day on Saturday, October 29. During this time our contractor, Schommer & Sons, will switch part of our facility over to the new HVAC system. On Monday, October 31, the plan is to heat and expand circulation in many areas of the facility. This work will not yet affect the pool, gymnasium, and a few other spaces. Please check the website before coming in early Monday.

We appreciate your patience and understanding the last four months. While this work has been intrusive and, many times, inconvenient, this new system became absolutely necessary when our original boiler from 1925 became inoperable during the pandemic. We are nearing the final stages of the project, and will have one more interruption to the facility (dates to be announced when finalized).

Upcoming Winter Youth Programs

Family Art Saturdays – Bring your family to one of our family art afternoons! Activities include: Family watercolor portrait, creating your own board game, and decorating a puzzle. These projects are designed for a variety of ages and abilities and will cater to each individual’s strengths. Open to ages five and up.

November: 12, 19 & December 3

From 1:15 to 2:30 pm. $35/family.

Winter Break Camp – Join us for winter break camp at NECC! Each day has a different theme - kids can work together to bust myths, repurpose recycling into art, and learn about space exploration. End the day by splashing in our warm water pool! Camps run from 9 am to 4 pm.

Week 1: December 19 - 22

Week 2: December 27 – 30

In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding additional youth art and dance classes. Keep an eye on our website for the latest info!

Great News! We have extended Saturday facility hours, and we are now open from

7am – 3pm on Saturdays. Check the facility schedule for open gym hours.
