Review Previous Reports

The Coordinated Access System (CAS) will ensure that assistance for people experiencing homelessness is more equitable, expedient, and easier to navigate by our unhoused neighbors. To supplement the new CAS infographic, we are developing additional materials and flyers that will be available in the new year. Follow the latest CAS updates in this monthly newsletter and visit our website for more information

Review the Application

After extensive community outreach, SSF received an outpouring of interest for its first Housing Families First Collaborative (HFFC) with over 20 application submissions for participation. The HFFC’s purpose is to provide leadership in strategic planning towards advancing system-level approaches to identify and monitor families at risk of and experiencing homelessness in Sacramento County. SSF will now evaluate the applicant pool and engage in additional targeted outreach to ensure all voices are represented, especially partners with lived expertise as well as partners from underrepresented communities. Following this additional outreach, the selection process will commence and include a comprehensive assessment of applications from a diverse panel of community members. SSF hopes to have a final collaborative body selected by the end of the year.

Tell Me More

Sacramento Steps Forward is being funded through the Housing and Homelessness Incentive Program (HHIP) to provide overall project coordination and management for the implementation of the Community Supports (CS) initiative that will connect people experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness to housing services. SSF has begun meeting with contracted and interested non-contracted service providers to discuss their experience so far and ways to achieve a coordinated intake and referral system. We’d like to hear from agencies already offering or are interested in offering CS services. If you haven’t yet, please complete ASAP this 5 minute survey and Doodle poll for a 90 minute interview. Only one response per agency is needed. We also encourage you to join our “Community Supports & CalAIM” email list to get the latest updates.

Access Information

The Listos California Community Resilience Campaign based at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) aims to reach 500,000 vulnerable individuals with disaster preparedness and training materials through community outreach to provide resources and assist individual preparedness. SSF will leverage current resources and programs to provide outreach and assistance within the community to individuals and families, including to: provide shelter support and resources to local partners, reaching the population that is utilizing shelters, providing physical access points to the information; and providing ongoing online materials, like Disaster Preparedness Resources that can be accessed by persons experiencing homelessness, or those assisting them, in a location that is already being accessed. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months.
