Your favorite Sew Vac time of the year - 

SEW FAIR!

Yes, it’s our way of thanking you, our customers, but we get to have fun, too, because the excitement is catching!

While many of you will have already seen the announcement about our special seminars, we’re also including the calendar below. Here are a few more details about what’s going on this month: 

There will be special pricing all month long on machines and cabinets!

On seminar days, we will have 25% off books, notions, fabric, and accessories, so check the calendar carefully!

Events on the calendar are free; however, please do call and sign up ahead of time to reserve your spot (the virtual DIME event will have a separate process - you will sign up on line and be sent the link just prior to the session).

Door prize tickets will be given to attendees on the day of the session; drawings will be held the same day – “you must be present to win!”

In an effort to keep class size reasonable, most of the seminars are offered in more than one time slot, some on multiple days, some repeat on the same day.

Holiday Pot Holder

Get a (turkey?) leg up on all that holiday baking and cooking with our lovely pot holders. They’re quick to make, add a whimsical touch to your kitchen, and best of all, the kit includes everything you need – just add thread! And if you’re not culinarily inclined, why not use it as a hostess gift?

Fabulous Fleece Accessories with Pattie Otto

Skill Level: Beginner

A trio of must have accessories to keep you and your love ones warm this winter. Start with a quick-cut self-fringe scarf. Next we will construct a beanie style hat. The class will finish with a set of mittens. All construction will be done on your sewing machine. Class will teach layout and cutting of hi-loft fabrics as well as how to sew and hem outerwear fleece. We will be using Great Copy #2685 Icelandic Hat and Mitten pattern which is sized children through adult. The kit includes hi-tech Polartec® fleece which provides superior warmth and ribbing for the cuff.

Denali Vest with Pattie Otto

Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Create a stunning zipped front vest or jacket with curved pockets using the Denali Vest and Jacket pattern from Great Copy Patterns. During class you will have access to try-ons to aid in selecting the correct size, as well as fitting and construction advice. Basic techniques will also include applying fold over elastic, inserting a front zipper and stitching an easy baseball style ribbed collar.

Folded Fabric Medallion--Store Favorite!

Make a stunning fabric medallion with Cheryl! These gorgeous medallions can be used in quilt blocks, as table toppers, as an embellishment on garments—anything you can think of! Students will learn all about design and layout, setting up a grid foundation, and sewing through multiple layers. Cheryl will also discuss options for finishing the medallion center.

So, you've made a quilt--almost. Need some help with your finishing techniques? Pat Brousil will show you many different ways for completing that last step professionally. You will make a small sample of each technique in class.

How many times have you measured twice and cut once only to accidentally make the wrong cut in your beloved fabric?? This class with Pat Brousil will teach you all the finer points of rotary cutting. You will draft and cut a variety of different shapes, including squares, rectangles, half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, trapezoids, hexagons, and more! Join Pat and learn how to rotary cut with confidence. 



Serger Crochet Christmas Ball with Lisa Cowan

Serger crochet is just plain cool. Learn how to do this versatile technique with Lisa and make an ornament decoration that can also double as a wine glass marker!

This class will focus on basic machine operations, what the various icons allow the user to do, and identifying the basic feet. Part 2 will focus in on stitch selection, stitch editing and identifying the basic feet and their purpose.
