A Message from
Mayor John Gunter
As the cooler weather and holiday season approaches and we turn our clocks back an hour (Sunday, November 5), we welcome the month of November. There are many important updates and news to share with our community.
Yacht Club Beach Reopening: I am thrilled to announce that our city just received the necessary federal permits to reopen the Yacht Club Beach, which has been a long time coming. Plans for the future of the Yacht Club Community Park will be discussed early this month by the City Council at a workshop meeting.
Progress on New Parks: Our commitment to providing green spaces for our community remains. Sands Park is open, and many residents are enjoying this new park. A ribbon-cutting event is planned for December to celebrate. Read more from the Mayor-->
Sincerely,

Canal Debris Removal Expected by Year's End
The remaining Hurricane Ian debris collection from Cape Coral's canals commenced on October 16 and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
Ceres Environmental, the contracted debris removal company, is reducing the remaining canal vegetation and vacant lot program vegetation for final disposition at Burnt Store Recycling. None of the material will be burned.
The volumes will be drastically reduced over what was processed during the early hurricane recovery.
Progress of the debris collection is being tracked through an app that will be viewable on the city website in early November.

Portion of Trafalgar Parkway Closed Starting November 1
Beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, all lanes of Trafalgar Parkway will be closed between Santa Barbara Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard so crews can complete milling, paving, and striping on the roadway.
This paving is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather and operational conditions permitting. Detours will be clearly marked during the closure, and local residential traffic will be accommodated.
Drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians should use caution while traveling through the area. This schedule may change due to inclement weather.
