Scholarships Available for College Students' Spring Semester

The Kohler Family Scholarship Committee meets bi-annually to review applications for students requesting financial assistance to attend college, university or vocational programs. Applicants must be baptized and be a member of a church in the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. The applicant must show financial need, academic promise, be baptized, and be willing to provide additional supporting information as stipulated on the Application. Applications are accepted up to June 15th for fall semesters, and up to November 15th for spring semesters. For more information, please see the website here.

As a supervisor, you assist the national church’s area coordinators by managing the many volunteers needed to make the convention run smoothly. General tasks of supervisors include:

• Gathering the volunteers from the check-in area
• Explaining volunteer duties for your area
• Assisting with any volunteer issues that might arise

New 2023 Dismantling Racism Training dates

Additional 2023 Dismantling Racism Training dates are now available and will be offered in two different formats: virtually via zoom as a one day session or as a one day, in-person event at various locations throughout the diocese. Important information for each format is listed below. Please carefully read the description of the event and the dates and select the program that best suits your needs and schedule. 

In-person Training Days:

The event will begin at 9:30 and end no later than 4 pm (times listed are in local times: Louisville-EST, Bowling Green-CST). Lunch will be provided as well as snacks throughout the day.

There are currently no in-person training days being offered. We will post additional in-person training dates as they become available.

Virtual Training Day via zoom:

There are no more virtual training events scheduled at this time. We will publish additional virtual dates as they become available.

The virtual one day event will begin at 9:30 EST (8:30 CST). We will end no later than 3:30 EST (2:30 CST). We will have breaks throughout the day and a break for lunch.

The deadline to register for a training event will be three days before the session.

To foster optimum learning and conversation, the participant limit for each training day is 24. Please sign up early to be sure to get the time you want.

Forma, a ministry of Lifelong Learning at Virginia Theological Seminary, is the professional network for Christian formation leaders in the Episcopal Church. The Annual Forma Conference offers an intentional time of networking, learning, and inspiration. This year’s conference, January 22-25, 2024, will offer multiple ways to participate: individually through Zoom, joining a Local Conference Gathering, or traveling to Camp Allen or Kanuga for a Conference Center Retreat. A Letter from All Saints Board Chair, Mark Richard

I'm writing to ask for your support of All Saints Center in Leitchfield, KY. 

It has been joyful to see God’s work in the faith development and community building that happens regularly at All Saints. Not only is All Saints a sacred place for our diocese, but we’re getting groups outside the diocese coming to All Saints to enjoy the peace and beauty found there. Our board is excited about the future of the camp and understands the important place it holds for both youth and adults throughout our diocese and beyond. Much has been done to improve the camp experience, including adding a boathouse to the riverfront and constructing a labyrinth in a peaceful spot just behind the inn. Also, a disk golf course has been laid out on the grounds, which winds its way through the upper and lower camps and through the woods in between.

There is much more that can be done, but we need your help. Please consider supporting All Saints with a financial gift. An Intro to Queer Theology

Sign up for a Six-Week Epiphany Class on Radical Love: An Introduction to Queer Theology.

The class will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 S. 2nd St., Louisville beginning Monday, January 8 and running through February 12. The class will be studying Radical Love by Patrick S. Cheng. Cheng is the Assistant Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He holds a Pd.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in systematic theology from Union Theological Seminary in New York and is an ordained minister in the Metropolitan Community Church.

The class meets from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Monday evenings and is facilitated by The Rev. Rick Kautz. Email rickkautz@gmail.com to register.

St. Peter’s Louisville is extremely proud of a young man in our midst, Hai Shee. Hai Shee was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and came to Louisville as a young child. He is now quarterback for Atherton High School’s football team and is looking at colleges for next year. The Courier-Journal recently ran an article on him. If you have not seen the article, you can find it here. Please join us in congratulating Hai Shee and celebrating all the young people in our Diocese.
